Humid

 - (of the air) hot and slightly wet

   Ex1) The air is usually more humid in the morning

Fussy

 - Too careful about details and difficult to please

   Ex1) This food is not that tasty. // Oh, don't be so fussy

Thank (one's) lucky stars

 - You should be grateful

   Ex1) I came home just before the heavy rain started. // You should thank your lucky stars

Cafeteria

 - A restaurant in a factory, college, etc. where you choose already cooked food and carry it to your table

   Ex1) The food at this university cafeteria is absolutely terrible, and the coffee is even worse.

Cover

 - To put something over something else

   Ex1) The earth is covered mostly by water.

   Ex2) Her desk is always covered with papers.

   Ex3) I burn very easily iin the sun, so I try to cover my shoulders, face and back at the beach.

Take (something) for granted

 - To never think about how important or useful something is and expect that it will always be there when you need it

   Ex1) Most people take their health for granted.

Hang around at home

 - Stay at home, not doing anything in particular

   Ex1) I usually hang around at home if the weather is bad.

   ※ 신기하게도, 어느 영어로 발음하느냐에 따라 다르게 들렸다. 예문을 들었을 때 hand around로 계속 들렸었다. 수업에서 이러한 현상에 대해 크게 3가지로 생각할 수 있다고 했다.

    1. Unfamiliar vocabulary : 단어를 모르는 경우에 명확하게 들리지 않을 수 있다.

    2. Unfamiliar topic : 주어진 주제에 대해 익숙하지 않은 경우, 아는 단어라 하더라도 들리지 않을 수 있다.

    3. Unfamiliar sound : 발음하는 주체가 어떤 사람이냐에 따라 다를 수 있다. 성별 / 국가에 따라 나뉠 수 있다. 

       나의 경우에는 3번에 해당했다. 확실히 선생님이 발음하거나, 다른 예문을 들었을 때는 잘 들렸으나, 특정 예문에서는 잘 들리지 않았다.
